Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Many projects blend systems to match structure and budget while keeping a unified look with the same glass and handrail finish.
Hidden Side Mount and Base Rail (including Recessed) deliver the most glass with the least amount of visible hardware. Standoff Pins and side-mounted Talons keep surfaces clear by moving hardware to the side of the structure. Talon Spigots and Ascend Talons have more visible hardware but make the glass planes appear to float above the surface.
Post-mounted glass typically offers the best value. Spigots and Base Rail trend higher due to hardware and engineering. Get an apples-to-apples quote by choosing a system above and sharing linear footage, stair runs, and anchoring surfaces.

Our systems are engineered to meet applicable guard and handrail requirements when installed per instructions and local approvals. Final authority rests with your local building official (AHJ). We’ll share engineering data and details with your plans submittal.
Tempered glass is heat-treated for strength. If broken, it granulates, breaking into small, less dangerous pieces. Laminated glass bonds two panes together with an interlayer so that the glass holds together when it breaks. It also provides sound and UV protection. Many systems can use either and both are considered safety glass. Check each system's page for allowed thicknesses and make your selection based on code, span, and design.
Typical options vary by system and span. You’ll see recommended thicknesses on each product page (e.g., Posts, Base Rail, Spigots, Standoffs, Vedera). Your quote will include the correct spec for your layout.
Use a non-abrasive glass cleaner and soft cloth. Rinse exterior systems to remove salts/dirt. Follow the finish care instructions on your system page to preserve hardware appearance, especially in coastal environments.
When specified and installed per instructions, systems are engineered for applicable design loads. For unusual wind exposure, high snow drift, or assembly areas, tell us early so we can size hardware/glass appropriately.
Pricing varies by system, glass spec, finishes, and geometry. Post systems typically start lower; channel and spigot systems trend higher. Send your layout for a detailed quote.
