Often post mounting screws are installed with impact drivers, the increased torque from the drivers will cause the mounting screws to mar the powder coat on the footplate of the post. The 18-8 stainless steel Post Mounting Washer creates a barrier in between the post mounting screw and the powder coat to ensure the powder coat is not damaged during install which protects the footplate long term from corrosion.
